Marrakech - Dades valley

We start in Marrakech towards the Tichka Pass (2260 m), driving along the highest pass road in Morocco, accompanied by an impressive view of the surrounding semi-desert. In Ouarzazate we stop for lunch, then we continue via Kelaat M'Gouna (City of Roses) to the Dades Valley, famous for its beautiful Kasbahs. We will spend the night in a tent.

Valley of the roses (Agurzegua)

Today we continue on foot: we hike for about 3 hours on narrow paths of the local Berbers through the Dades valley, past terraced fields, and finally reach the valley of the M'Goun. In the village of Ighrm Aqdim we have lunch and walk for another 1.5 hours to the village of Agurzegua. The hike is adventurous and sandals are recommended as we cross the river several times. We spend the night in a tent. Total duration: 5 h 30; ascent: 500 m, descent: 400 m.

Almdoune

Today we leave the valley characterized by numerous kasbahs and deep gorges. We climb high up to a pass and through a juniper forest back down to the valley. We eat and march on good paths to the village of Almdoune at about 1700 m, where we spend the night in a tent. Duration: 5 h; ascent: 300 m, descent: 300 m.

4

Boutghrar

Gorges, oleander bushes and kasbahs characterize today's hiking scenery. End point of the tour is the village of Boutaghrar. Duration: 5 h; Ascent: 500 m, Descent: 500 m.

Hdida

On the last day of hiking we are in the heart of the Valley of Roses. We are surrounded by a scenery of kasbahs, fragrant rose fields and fields of grain, corn and potatoes. The roses grown here are used for the popular rose products - rose water, cosmetics, jam. The end point of the valley is the Berber village of Hdida. We spend the night in a simple lodge.

Marrakech

We leave the Valley of Roses, stow our hiking boots and get into the car. Our first destination is Ouarzazate, where we visit the Kasbah Ben Haddou. The Kasbah from the 11th century served as a film location for famous movies and belongs to the world cultural heritage. A good moment to pause again, the experiences of the past days in mind, with a view of the High Atlas. After a total of about 6 h 30 drive, we arrive in Marrakech, where we spend the night in the hotel.  Time to say goodbye. We hope you had an unforgettable time. Maybe you will come again?
