High Atlas ( Ait Bouguemez)

In Marrakech you will meet your guide and the driver, then you will start a 4-hour drive to Azilal, the capital in the High Atlas Mountains. There you will have lunch and a first exploration. Then it's on to the Ait Bouguemez valley, a fertile plain at 1800m. The scenic drive alone with views of the imposing mountains of the High Atlas, the terraced gardens of the locals and their fields, the apple and nut trees is an experience. Upon arrival, we have tea and explore the fertile surroundings with their traditional adobe houses. The inhabitants of the valley will welcome you with a broad smile - not for nothing is the valley called "Valley of the Happy".

3

Kalàa M'Gouna

Today we cross the High Atlas. Along a new pass road we go up to N'Ait Imi (2900 m) and then over the Tizi N'Ait Hamed (2500 m). Our destination is the oasis town of Kalaat Mgouna, also known as the Rose Town, which has about 20,000 inhabitants. Here we spend the night in an accommodation.

4

Zagora

We drive along the "Road of 1000 Kasbahs", which runs for 300 kilometers from Errachidia to Ouarzazate and connects the High Atlas with the Anti-Atlas, to Ouarzazate. Then we continue through the Draa Valley, one of the largest oases in Morocco. Wonderful palm groves on one side and the mountains of the Anti-Atlas on the other side accompany us on the drive. The Anti-Atlas is the southernmost of the three Atlas mountain ranges. About 165 km southeast of Ouarzazate lies the oasis town of Zagora. It was once an important stopover for the caravans from Tumbuktu on their way to the economic center of Marrakech. We enjoy the landscape with countless date palms and agricultural land.

5

Sahara (Merzouga)

Today we will visit one of the most important ceramic production towns in the country: Tamgrout. Ceramic production is in the hands of local families and proceeds according to ancient tradition. The day full of attractions will take us to Merzouga in the Sahara. We check in at the hotel, take a short break, and discover the desert. With sand under your feet or, if you feel like it, on a camel. An unforgettable sunset with a view of the seemingly endless desert landscape puts us in the right mood for the evening. In the camp, in the middle of the dunes, we will have dinner accompanied by the sounds of drums. The Milky Way has never been so close.

6

Toudgha valley

Early in the morning we watch the sunrise, ride back to the hotel by camel and then drive to the Toudgha valley with its steep red rock walls. We visit an old irrigation system that was once used to water the palm trees and fields.

7

Toudgha valley

Today we will visit the majestic Todra Gorge. Its walls are up to 300 meters high and are also popular with climbers. We will take a short hike, during which we are very likely to meet a nomadic family in their accommodation. With a little luck we will even be served tea. If you are not tired after that, you can go exploring again very close to the hotel. Fields, palm trees and pomegranate trees are waiting for you.

8

Marrakesh

We leave the beautiful valley and head back towards Marrakech. On the way we stop in Ouarzazate. We visit the famous Kasbah Ben Haddou. The 11th century Kasbah served as a location for famous movies and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
